CMI Toyota have been proud sponsors of the iconic City-Bay Fun Run for over 12 years and we were thrilled to participate once again in the 49th Lumary City-Bay Fun Run.
“The City-Bay Fun Run is an iconic South Australian event, and as an iconic South Australian family owned business, it is great fit for us to support this event,” said Drew Ford, CMI Toyota’s Senior General Manager.
This year’s event welcomed more than 16,000 participants who braved the warm weather as they raced from the Adelaide CBD towards the finish line at Glenelg, in the 6km or 12km walk or run, 3km walk, and the half marathon.

Many of our own team and their families stepped up to the challenge in the name of fitness and fun to form the ‘CMI Toyota City-Bay Team’. It was great to see over 70 of our team members and their families proudly wearing the red ‘Team CMI Toyota’ t-shirts as they walked or ran to Glenelg.

Once they had reached the finish line, our team enjoyed a BBQ breakfast and refreshments as they met up with other team members to compare their finish times, and rest and recover! The Toyota Yaris Early-Bird prize car was also on display for everyone to check out.
CMI Toyota proudly gave away a car as part of the early entry draw, and this year we were honoured to hand over the keys to a brand-new Toyota Yaris to this year’s winner, Rolf and his wife Anne-Marie.

Participating in his third City-Bay Fun Run, Rolf, who is vision impaired, took part in the 12km walk guided by friends towards the finish line. He completed the walk with an impressive time of 1:45:59!
The prize win came at the perfect time for Rolf and Anne-Marie. Unfortunately they had to cancel an order they had placed on a new car the week before receiving the call from Drew, letting them know they were the new owners of a brand-new Toyota Yaris!
“It’s always a great experience being able to handover the keys of the prize car to the lucky winner after the event. This year was even more special seeing the car go to such a deserving couple. We hope you enjoy your new Yaris, Rolf and Anne-Marie!” Said Drew.

“The Yaris is lovely and we are both enjoying it immensely,” says Rolf. “Anne-Marie is loving driving it and getting use to all the features. She is particularly enjoying the fuel efficiency it is providing.”
“Thank you once again for the car which I never thought I would have a chance of winning. It was one of those things that was meant to be.”
