The best way to understand what it is like to work in the automotive industry and a Toyota Service workshop is to complete work experience in a CMI Toyota Service Centre.
The CMI Toyota Work Experience Program is a great introduction for high school students to gain an insight into how a busy Toyota Service Centre operates.
You will participate in a range of different activities across the service department, providing you with a valuable insight into what is involved in working in one of the most exciting industries in the world.
When and where does the CMI Toyota Work Experience Program take place?
The CMI Toyota Work Experience Program runs throughout the school year, from January through to December.
A limited number of placements are available in our service workshops located at CMI Toyota Adelaide, Cheltenham and Christies Beach, as well as at our Stepney Service Centre.
What happens during your work experience?
Work experience is conducted in 1-week blocks (Monday – Friday), from 8.00am – 4.00pm each day.
During this time, you will accompany one of our experienced team members as they guide you through each day. You will also build some basic foundations skills required to become successful in the automotive industry.
To ensure that you have the best possible experience while you complete your work experience, there are a few important things to remember:
- Punctuality – Ensure that you are on time and return from breaks when required.
- Safety – Always consider your safety and the safety of those around you.
- Communication – Ask lots of questions and learn as much as you can.
- Participation – Complete tasks that you feel comfortable with and expand your skills.
