Proudly supporting the 2025 City-Bay Fun Run
CMI Toyota has proudly sponsored the iconic City-Bay Fun Run for an incredible 14 years, and we were thrilled to continue our support in 2025. This long-standing partnership reflects our commitment to supporting community health, wellbeing, and local events that bring South Australians together in celebration of fitness and fun.
This year’s event was particularly special, with almost 100 enthusiastic employees from across CMI Toyota and the broader CMV Group, along with their families, forming the ‘CMI Toyota City-Bay Team’. It was fantastic to see so many participants proudly donning the signature red ‘Team CMI Toyota’ t-shirts as they took on the challenge, whether running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines.
Despite a chilly and rainy morning, spirits were high as participants took part in the 3km, 6km, and 12km walk or run, and the half marathon, racing from the Adelaide CBD to the finish line at Glenelg. After crossing the line, participants from the CMI Toyota Team gathered at the CMI marquee in Colley Reserve to refuel and celebrate with a well-deserved breakfast including toasted croissants, bacon and egg rolls, muffins, and other tasty refreshments. It was a great chance for everyone to compare their times, rest and recover!
This year’s event saw over 27,000 participants, including elite athletes and participants from right across the country, reinforcing the City-Bay Fun Run’s reputation as one of Australia’s largest fun runs. South Australian elite athletes Adam Goddard and Izzi Batt-Doyle took out first place in the men’s and women’s categories of the 12km run, with Isaac Heyne and Bronte Oates finishing a close second.
We were also delighted to support the early bird prize draw again this year by donating $5,000 to encourage registrations. Congratulations to Kerrie, the lucky winner, who visited our West Terrace dealership to receive her prize and meet Joe, City-Bay Race Director, along with members of the CMI Toyota team.
Each year, the City-Bay’s main goal is to raise funds for athletics in South Australia and other local charities. In 2025, the event raised an incredible $519,510 – a huge achievement and a testament to the generosity of the community.
From its humble beginnings in 1973, when just 1,600 runners paid 50 cents to race between the Adelaide Town Hall and Glenelg Town Hall, the City-Bay has grown into a world-class event now celebrating 51 years of history. We’re proud to have been part of its journey and congratulate everyone who took part in making this year’s event such a success!
